      $40?!

It’s capped at $25, $10 of which goes to the proctor.

Correct if they can't tell you the issue that has come up, doesn't sound true.
        Also why $40 isn't it $25?

Get 1 at another shop. Do not give shop any more money and out them after your son picks up firearm.

What’s the reasoning behind it if the purchase and pick up is well before the expiration? Also yeah that price is bogus for an FSC. Please name this LGS as I visit OC often.

Sounds like the gun is bought and paid for. Now the kid would need to get a refund.

Sounds like the shop is pulling some kind of extortion. Kid wants gun, he better pony up another $40.00. Even though the FSC is capped at $25.00.

DOJ definitely needs to hear about this.

If there was a problem, they would not have processed the DROS to begin with.

Get one at another shop and then take the shop in question to small claims court for the $25, gas and time it took him to get another FSC. Yea, it's a PITA but, the shop will either not show up in court or have to spend many hours getting ready and going to court for their actions.

Go back and tell the shop that the card is still valid and for them to relinquish the gun or you'll call the DOJ.

And add in that the fee for a card is 25 dollars, not 40, and there's nothing they can do about it. Not that it matters since he already has a valid card.

Let the guy at the counter know that you’re now on the phone with calguns.
