    Comprehensive Gun Lube Test

I'll put this here because it got buried in a low rated post and will likely go unnoticed.

If you like this thread, please take time to leave a 1-Star rating...... Because yes, it's another thread on gun lubes (I'll start). Cliff notes for the newbs..... Just buy Froglube (it's minty).

Someone took the time, effort, and expense to make a highly educational demonstration that I find deserving of my time.

Here's everything you need to know about gun lube. However, they don't include unicorn jizz (G.I. LSA)...... So you'll have to look at that separately.

I clean with Slip2000 Trigger Cleaner (baby wipes work well too). I use Tetra Gun Grease on my Glocks. I store all of my metal guns/gun parts with a coating of Hornady One Shot (rust protection). I run the AR wet (Slip2000 AWL or Unicorn Jizz)..... But as you can imagine, milking unicorns is an expensive option.

There's obviously some that stand out above the rest when it comes to storage.

Rust prevention is always subject to the garage experimenters choices. YMMV

Have they tried floor wax and safflower oil on any of those plates yet? Separately or course.

IIRC safflower oil smoke point is about 520 degrees and it lubricates with a neutral smell. You can add peppermint oil if you like. I hear chicks dig that.

I love Frog Lube. It's great on garage door rails. Rem Oil in the spray can is great for door locks. Hoppes #9 makes a great smelling salt. It will wake the dead or kill you trying.

The only "education" I got from the thread is that the guy knows ZERO as to running a corrosion test.

The comment above on safflower oil and hardwood floor paste wax is correct, and has been for a very long time.

Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!

There's more to the article than corrosion testing. I just highlighted that in the OP. You should read it before you comment.
