The founding fathers wanted you to have an AR.

Not one Founder mentioned anything about “hunting” or “skeet shooting” during the debates over the drafting of the Constitution.

God bless America. God bless the founding fathers.

They wanted me to have whatever my government has. Its really that simple.

Yes, to protect against all enemies, foreign AND domestic, including a rogue government.

Unfortunately, many of the young generation want the government to provide everything for them. They have no idea what they are asking for.

That is a brilliant picture, and perfectly suited to today.

I'm of the opinion that every single firearm can be banned and regulated EXCEPT those arms that can be shouldered by the modern infantryman.

Every US citizen of sound mind and body should be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with a contemporary infantryman and be similarly armed.

The Constitution doesn't protect $20K hunting shotguns, or $4000 semi-auto race pistols. It protects triple burst M16/M4's and whatever flavor pistol is being used by the military.

Dick needs to own up to the fact that the people are the problem, not the guns, and he needs to do a better job helping his constituents and enforcing existing laws rather than thinking some type of further regulation will magically make the crime go away

                        No.

The Constitution was intended as a restriction on the powers & permissions of government; it was NOT a restriction on the citizens.

Therefore; the citizens should get to decide what the government can & cannot own / do / etc.

Our country's founding has been so completely perverted to where people now think they need to ask the govt for permission for everything.

The founders were also familiar with mag fed weapons and repeaters when they wrote the 2nd Amendment. Other than the repeating Girandoni Air Rifle, the Puckle Gun was mag fed. So the founders were very familiar with current gun technology. So it's a flat out lie that all they knew was flintlock muzzle loaders.

The 2nd Amendment was written assuming citizens would carry the same small arms as the military, because the citizenry IS the military. Ideally, citizens would be equipped with the latest military weaponry available. Because that's what they would be fighting against.

As usual, democrats are caught lying like hell.

"I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!" - Senator Barry Goldwater
