I do not even worry about it. I stocked up long before the panic buying on what ammo I wanted new and plenty of reloading supplies
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

People will write bots to purchase anything in short supply that's being sold for less then current marke value and can be resold for a profit. They're taking advantage of an arbitrage. so yes, I'm sure someone is using bots.

If they make the mistake of buying too much and can't sell for a profit then they'll drop the prices and sell for a loss. Hopefully we can all get cheap ammo at their expense when we hit the other side of the bubble.

these buying bots are used in a lot of places now.

anything with a reasonable high demand and limited supply and an ample re-sell market is vulnerable to these buying bots.

the only real way to combat this is to not buy from re-sellers / scalpers. make them hold product and not able to get their money back.

the only downside to this waiting game, is that if the election isn't won by Trump, the price of ammo will go up even more and these scalpers will have a much more willing market to buy their inflated prices.

What makes you think a Trump loss will drive ammo sales? I understand how sales of items that may face increased regulation could be in higher demand but ammo doesn't seem like one of those items.

I suppose I big spike in semi auto rifles would fule sales of ammo to feed them but im not sure there's going to be a big spike above what's already happening.

Americans are going to be holding a ridiculous amount of ammo
More than they can ever use. At some point they'll resell it, even if at an estate sale. In addition to that we've had quite a few ammo panics so I see the prices crashing at some point.

                  This...

I've resorted to buying my ammo from my range when I go to shoot. They never really raised their prices. It's just everyone else's prices came up to theirs.

                  Benefits to doing this:

                  1. I don't have to go wait in line at a lgs.

                  2. Since I'm shooting all of the ammo I don't have to fill out paperwork to buy it. That's a dollar saved right there!

                  3. I'm not using my stockpile since I have no idea when we'll be able to effectively buy in bulk again.

Logistically, it's not very hard to write a script or 'bot' that searches for stock and checks out with your payment information when it finds something in stock.

That being said, I highly doubt people are buying 10s of thousands of dollars of ammo to resell.

you really think that having a Biden/Harris presidency won't kick off an even higher demand for guns and ammo?

especially in the rest of the country that haven't had to deal with the restrictions we have here in CA. imagine how they will feel when biden enacts the same restrictions we have here in CA? we might not feel any difference but the other 48 states will.

I'm not convinced it's bots. Not easy to make a profit buying 2-box limits at a time and then paying shipping for it.

I think it's more likely the maybe 10,000,000 new gunowners competing with the existing 100,000,000 gun owners for every cartridge available in the US.

When target sports sends me a text, I know I have approximately 15 seconds to get that order in lol.

Are you serious? Ammo doesn't seem to be one of those items that could face increased regulation? You mean like it has in California?

I guess you don't remember the surge in California ammo sales before the ammo background checks went into effect. Or how the roster hasn't affected gun sales. If Biden gets elected, we'll see a run on guns and ammo like we've never seen. Magazines have been readily available so far, but expect anything over 10 rounds to be sold out everywhere. What do you think a possibility of a nationwide ammo background check will do? If their doing it in California, it's just a matter of time before the Dems think its a great idea for the whole country.
