bigger is better, I'm surprised that they kept the 5.56 round for the movie.... it would be quite ineffective against armored targets.

20mm would be better than .50.... .308 would be minimum IMHO and that would be strictly a head shot thing.

Movies and TV seem to agree that the best anti-terminator weapon is a reprogrammed terminator. The next best alternative would be to lead a pursuing terminator on a dramatic chase through a factory and attempt an environmental kill using a vat of molten steel, an industrial press or whatever is handy.

the problem of future tech like with the magical powersupplys and miniature lasers skynet is smart but is has to deal with the science where we left off

We need to think about mobility, as well. Running with a .50 BMG rifle strapped to your back can hamper your speed.
