1911s for meComment

Sig P226 with CT. I'm with Gramma - if I ever have to use it I'll have to explain to the coroner why there are a limited number of entry/exit wounds and an empty mag. To reach out and touch someone - my M1A.
I'm still settling into my ARs and haven't even let my SKS out of the closet and down to the range yet.
But I'm forgetting hitting 23-24 of 25 at trap with the ole Mossberg 500... Hrm...

I wouldn't own anything I'm not proficient with - it defeats the purpose of having them.
If you mean, what's my nightstand gun, it's my S&W M&P .40, which is the most comfortable pistol that's ever been in my hand. I get to pick up my SA XD .45 ACP 5" Tactical next week (12/4) but as much as I've been looking forward to getting that one, I don't think it's going to sleep on the nightstand instead of the M&P. I've got a 1911 style 9mm from Para (Stainless P18-9) that shoots real nice, but I don't have the same confidence in it that I have in the S&W. The S&W never jams, never misfeeds, and the rounds go where you want them to go. I have a 1911 .45 ACP on my wish list, and I am trying to decide whether to get it from S&W, SA or Para. Right now, I'm leaning towards S&W, but the jury's still out on that one.
As far as most fun to shoot and still put them where I want first time, every time, that would be my 16" barreled Stag 6.8L with the SOPMOD buttstock, RRA 2 stage trigger, and the EOTech Holographic sight. I've got the mag pinned with the Prince50 kit and take it to the local range with no strange looks and no problems. It helps that a lot of the clientelle are USMC from Pendleton. A couple of weeks ago I was shooting it next to a Force Recon Marine who asked if he could check it out, and when he got done admiring it, he said, "Yeah, that's what we use at work." I thought that was well put. That particular toy came from Wes, in parts, and it's a beauty. Wes sold me on the 2 stage triggers, and I think they're well worth the extra $$.
BTW, if any of you are wondering whether it's worth it to make the jump from 5.56 to 6.8, I say yes, it is. It doesn't look like the OLL situation's going to change anytime soon, but just in case, if you want to build yourself something that's all 6.8 (including a stamped 6.8mm lower) instead of just putting a 6.8 upper on your 5.56/.223 lower, I love my Stag and I'm sure Wes would be happy to set you up with the right stuff.sigpic
