    Hidden FFL fees?

Call them and ask, and show them the proof you paid the CA state tax

I was told the state comes after FFL for taxes on out of state transfer so your FFL is probably just being cautious.

It is also possible your FFL jacked up their fees. I got hit with $175 transfer fee to transfer 2 stripped lowers but I am not outing the FFL because I like them and still use them for ammo transfers. I just go elsewhere for transferring guns now

Didn’t you first check with the FFL to discuss his fees for receiving a gun to be transferred to you? Typical fees for doing that are $100.00 +- and now with Covid hassle it may be more. It should always be discussed first.

8.5% is the tax rate in surprise, az. You were charged Az tax because the gun was shipped to AZ and you are a retail buyer. This is a new thing as I have not seen classic charge tax before when shipping to me.
You must contact classic and either have them refund the AZ tax or change it to CA tax.

You have to pay CA tax at time of DROS. Doesnt matter if you paid tax in AZ.
