Buying stripped/built lower online and shipping to CA

It is still CA legal to order an off-list AR lower receiver online and have it shipped to a CA FFL dealer, who will then transfer (4473/DROS/10 day wait) it to you.
Unless an exemption is utilized, the AR lower receiver will be DROS'd as a "rifle, receiver".
Note that CA requires tax to be collected by the CA FFL dealer.
^Unless you pay the CA tax when you pay for the firearm and the seller includes the CA tax on your invoice.
So, when shopping online do not forget to factor in the CA tax, shipping fees, CA FFL transfer fees, and CA DROS fees.sigpic

Transfer fees and sales tax and shipping add a lot to cost of lower.Comment

Sometimes we just have to pay up for what we want...
It sounds like your in for some fun. I always enjoyed building ARs. It was even more fun when it was worth it to finish an 80%..It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
