Anyone have problems with Speer Ammo?

In 2017 I bought 1000 rd case of Speer Lawman 124gr 9mm for my CZ P-01 to eat up. Heard it was a good brand and saw a good deal for $189. Bought it online from SGAmmo.com. Threw it in the safe until today. Have shot about 400rds of Federal, Blazer, Hornady you name it without even a hiccup. Shot 150 rds of federal today perfectly fine. Switched to Lawman and the 5th rd into the mag gets stuck half way in the barrel and locks it up.. Cleared it, second rd of the other mag and I get a failure to eject. Had the range master look at the gun and ammo and he said there are burn marks around all the brass ammo and the cases are dinged up. He said most likely reman ammo and that's why the issues. Brass had been used before and reloaded.

Anyone ever had this issue with Speer Lawman Ammo before?

Any advice is welcome

Nope. Sgammo was my primary source.
If that ammo was.new. then it would be the mfg.

What do the other rounds look like? You can tell if they're reloaded.

for all we know, the RSO is confusing annealing for "once fired" brass.

your range master is an idiot.
sgammo is among the best in the industry.
cz pistols are known to have problems with some bullet profiles.
shoot that ammo in another pistol.
lawman is probably the highest quality fmj ammo around.

Thank you! I found this review on their website from the same time period that I bought mine. Looks like it might have been a bad batch?

I purchased this ammo because the S&B white box surplus was unavailable. Although it is accurate and clean burning, I was disappointed with failures to eject that I was having with a Canik CZ clone that does not like inconsistent brass. I may have had a bad batch but the bullets did not look clean. The cases had what look like "stains" for lack of a better word and the rims were not perfect and smooth. Although it runs fine in my PX4, my CZ clone stove-piped like they were reloads.

I always liked Speer ammo...never had a problem shooting it primarily in a SiG P226mk25 and a HK VP9

I'd try and contact Speer and ask about the lot number.
I've purchased a lot of ammo from Sam at SGAmmo. There's no way he would knowingly sell reman ammo without disclosing it. Even then I doubt he would sell reman ammo.

I’ve had good luck with all of their brand names.

But I will say this. That round in the pic looked like it wasn’t stored properly or there was some issue during storage. Do all of the unfired cases have the same appearance?

Only Speer I've ever fired was their gold dot jhp's in my hd/carry guns. Never had an issue, but the casings always looked immaculate
