COE processing for gun businesses vs people

Was talking to a manager and they said COE processing is taking 4 months or more.

Curious if anyone knows if source of request is impacting this? Is it really taking LEO associated COEs 4 months to process? average person? Or are gun business supported application being given last priority?

If they are, could be a nice law suit...

It seems to be a problem.

Shops are not having their coe processed in the time window they are allowed to start the renewal and their current coe expires.

It took me 88 days to renew my personal COE.

I put in for my COE renewal (personal) on Friday. Usually it would take only a day or two, but CFARS is down right now so I can't even check.

            1. Treat all guns as if loaded (even when you know they aren't).
            2. Never point the muzzle at anything you aren't willing to destroy.
            3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.
            4. Know your target and what is beyond it (avoid all collateral damage).

Took me 5-6 weeks to get my COE, too. They may be doing them in batches, so some of us wait longer than others. 9/15 seems to have been a day for a number of folks to receive their approval.

If it matters to anyone, there is an pending lawsuit against the CADOJ because they're not doing what they're supposed to be doing in a small amount of time in regards to the CoE.

Some gun stores throughout California are getting shut down...supposedly on purpose...as the DOJ is taking their sweet a** time processing them.

Check out YouTube channels for Reno May and Armed Scholar...I think both of these guys did a video on that very subject of CoE holders sueing the DOJ for just simply taking too long to process...hope that helps some.

I applied for renewal for COE for being a collector on September 22nd, and it was processed as renewed on October 2nd, so that was about 10 days.
