Hello CalGuns, question for you.

Hi there! I'm new to to this CalGuns community and a new owner of a firearm in California. My question is this. I purchased a handgun from one gun shop back in early September on a special order then when it came in on the 22nd, I did the DROS. About 12 days later I picked up my handgun and couldn't be happier.

I decided I wanted another handgun because of all the scares going on around the country esp out here in California and decided to pick another handgun up from another store due to the original store not having much of a selection at all.

So I did another DROS this past Tuesday! Then I DO remember the second gun store telling me after this purchase, I have to wait 30 days. It simply clicked in my mind just last night and I had that "OH CRAP MOMENT" ......The second handgun is also paid for and in the 10 day wait jail.

What will happen? I'm like a week off from the 30 day wait.......Totally an accident (I swear it) .....It's a dumb mistake on my end since I'm totally new to this and realized back in 1999 they had signed the bill to only allow 1 handgun per 30 days.

Am I still able to get the gun I purchased and simply will have to REDUE the DROS or wait additional days to pick it up? Does anyone know? Has anyone made this very mistake?

You mean August, right?

You will likely denied by DROS. And have to wait 30 days from that result

If the DROS for your first handgun was on Aug 22 and the second was on Sept 15, it will be rejected for the 30 day violation. You will not be able to redros until Oct 16.

Unless you go back to the dealer and have them cancel the DROS and redo it on either Sept 21 or 22. The exact time matters on your original dros. To be safe, go back on the 22nd.

You will not be able to DROS again until Oct 16 - I'd wait until Oct 18 just to be safe
