American Gothic 1911 grips, love it.

Something about the lines of the 1911 that takes grip art to a height.

Mine wears a modest set shaped by my brother from an old piece of black walnut. He also cut a gripset for his and our brother’s pistols from the same piece.

        Then said He unto them...
"and he that hath no 1911 designed by my servant John Moses Browning,
let him sell his garment and buy one."
And they said, "Lord, behold, here are two Glocks."
And He said unto them, "Meh, it's a good start."

              Look up sweetheart grips.

You can get modern ones for about $30 from many vendors.

I've never been into bizarre or even out of the ordinary grips on my handguns. I've always preferred standard double diamond checkered wood grips on my 1911s. My Kimber Custom II and Ultra Carry II came with black synthetic grips so I switched to these.

I decided to keep the black synthetic grips on the stainless Pro Carry II but lately I've been thinking about some stags.

American Gothic is hanging in the Chicago Art Museum (an amazing place)

and I don't really understand what the big whoop is over the painting. Maybe I really don't understand art, regardless, I would not care to have the images as grips.

I like the red brown of Cocobolo, and put those on my 1911's.

In the end, grips are there to grip, and as Quinn Moore (the best civilian service rifle shooter I knew) said :"Do you want to shoot your rifle or make love to it?" Same philosophy applies to handguns.

Those are very nice. Mine are all typical brown but I really like the red brown. The ones with the Colt logo would look great on my 1991.
