    Courtesy DROS? Wrong MFG Listed

OCSD is renewing my CCW permit and just shot me a call with a very interesting concern. They did me a favor actually.

I guess when I initially purchased my Springfield XDS-9 it was DROS'd with 'United States' listed as the MFG, not Springfield Armory. The CCW clerk said it's not a major concern for the permit, that I must have been initially DROS'd via a Courtesy DROS, but if I was stopped by law enforcement, it could result in a complication resulting in a detainment until the issue was resolved.

I'll call RifleGear in FV when they open, but I'm surprised no one at OCSD or DOJ caught this before.

Could the wrong MFG listing have anything to do with it originally being SSE?

Ouch! Glad to hear your investigator isn't making a big stink, trying to penalize YOU! But I guess this is why the salesmen doing the DROS always show you the info and ask you to confirm if everything looks correct.

I'm not an authority on this subject and I'm sure others will chime in. But isn't the Manufacturer listing just a drop down menu where the salesman simply clicks on the option/make?

Just got off the call from RG, super interesting situation. All has to do with DROS and Springfield's name. Not much to do with SSE, more that the new DROS system is flawed.

I could be wrong, but I thought when you added it to your permit it goes in based on the permit. Or basically a re-dros. That was the impression I got when I asked about SSE calibers.
