My primary H.D. rifle is a Sig 556xi pistol (10.5") with a brace, loaded with 30 rds of 77g Hornady Tap. I have an HK SP5 which is more of a range toy than an HD weapon, IMO, give me 5.56 over 9mm everyday, twice on Sundays. The ballistics of 5.56 frangible out of a 10.5" barrel is fine with me.

There was no need for the insult just because he/she doesn't agree. Its obvious this person has issues. Take a better look.

I plan to in the next week or two if the desert isn’t brutally hot. I have a variety of 300BLK in 125gr and 147gr. I’m keeping my subs and Barnes TAC in reserve due to supply issues.

My question to everyone using an AR pistol as their HD gun in this thread - do you still trust it with a maglock on it? I'm running an AR maglock + kingpin combo on my pistol and I've definitely had some less than ideal attempts trying to slam my receiver back into place during a quick mag change when the bolt is held back. Seems like an unnecessary risk in a life or death situation.

I would hope that nobody would be using a maglocked 10 round firearm for defensive purposes.

Why even have a maglock if its illegal anyway?

I have two... 10.5 inch 5.56 and an 8 inch 300blk. Thought about selling them before my move to Utah two months ago but they were both built on 80% lowers with my name on them.

Freedom week does not apply to maglocked firearms. It is not legal to insert a standard cap mag into a maglocked gun.

Totally agree with all comments at the end of the day its the state not the gun!

As a matter of fact, it is illegal to simply store (or transport) your maglocked rifles WITHOUT a magazine in it, because then it is a rifle that is now "capable" of accepting a magazine with a capacity higher than 10 rounds. The law is clear, any rifle with a fixed magazine "capable" of accepting more than 10 rounds is an AW. You can use your freedom week mags in featureless rifles like I do, but anything with a "fixed" mag must ALWAYS have a 10 round (or less) magazine attached to it at all times*.
*other then when you are gunsmithing
P.S. yes, technically everytime you swap an empty magazine and put a loaded one in your fixed mag rifle, you ARE "gunsmithing"
