Supply and demand. Supply is very limited, demand is high.

Since there are no semi auto AR pistols on the roster, PPT is basically the only option.

IMO, they are over rated and just not worth owning.

I agree with above, very overrated. I bought it cause they looked so cool and I didn’t know much about the short barrels, I thought it would be good for home defense but soon realized 5.56 is terrible in short barrels, they need velocity to fragment and ends up being a loud .22 in a short barrel. Even bought expensive TAP and Black HP ammo but just didn’t provide performance as my Kriss Vector pistol in 9mm for home defense. If I could run a suppressor then a short barrel AR15 would make sense but we don’t get those here unfortunately. 300blackout would have been good but I didn’t plan on stocking on a new caliber. I sold mine for $1200 and threw in the Eotech for free when I paid much more, and mine was nicer than many in marketplace going for $3000.

A regular 9mm AR would probably be cheaper and almost as good. The bad thing about an AR-ish pistol is you have to maglock it. I wouldn't want to count on 10 measly rounds to stop the badguys in a home defense situation.

^^^^ this is my view as well. The AR pistol is just a workaround to try to have something that's like an SBR but not.

I built three before the bs. They’re not the best gun but they’re certainly better than any pistol carbine with regard to lethality. They certainly are concealable under a jacket.

Loud. Very loud. The New frontier one is the best one. I wish I hadn’t sold mine.

US special operations uses short barreled rifles in 5.56 with 77 grain OTM . Guess what they don't use. It's important to note that no one uses 5.56 in a barrel shorter than 10" for anything other than making noise.

No offense, I'll take a proven firearm and ammunition over a boutique rifle and bullet type any day of the week. Especially when it's for something like defense.

If your exempt (law enforcement), you can buy a maglocked ar pistol for much less. It would be drosed as an off roster handgun. Just can't have a standard mag release. I say that because of your name here, I'm assuming your a LEO.

ALL of THIS, is exactly why I went with a Bren 805. Short-stroke piston solves the over/under gassing problem, and you still get the compact package and AR mags!
