Private Party Sale Question

Hi Everyone.

I currently own a gen 4 Glock that I purchased while living in another state that I am going to sell to my father in law. Does anyone know the best way to do that in California? With all of the madness that is going on in gun stores these days, it has been very difficult to get someone on the phone who is able to answer that question.

The same way you'd do a PPT with a stranger: agree to a price & time, be punctual, let the buyer inspect the gun, discretely exchange funds, go inside FFL and complete paperwork.

If you both are CA residents and you both have CA IDs, you both go to a single FFL and do a PPT.

Father in law needs CA REAL ID or passport/birth cert with CA ID and a firearms safety card or exemption. Fee will be $47.19
