    Dan Wesson 15-2 Revolver

I inherited this 15-2 .357 from my dad several years back. I believe (from what little info I can find regarding DW serial numbers) that it dates to a late 70's/early 80's manufacture. No original case or paperwork, but I did purchase from CZ the kit with the barrel wrench, feeler gauge, and hex wrenches. Always wondered what it might be worth. I know nothing about determining the quality of the finish, but I don't see any scratches or dings, perhaps just a little bluing wear at the muzzle. It is a Monson, MA product. 8" barrel.

That's beautiful. Is it one of the DW that you can change the barrel yourself with different length replacements? I don't know what its worth but I sure do like it.

Your Dad had good taste! The 15-2 is a very accurate and smooth revolver. Enjoy it

These are nice. I just sold a pistol pack a few days ago (Monson made, factory case, 4 barrels, etc.) and I have seen the complete setup at $1,800 - $2,000. Single pistol will obviously be less than that, but since it came from your Dad, I know the sale price probably doesn't matter.
Great pistols, the only reason I sold it was it sat in the safe and I knew I wasn't going to shoot it. Sold to a great calgunner that really loves the DW revolvers.
Each year on your birthday, ask yourself:
In the last year, what have I done with my name?
In the last year, what have I done with my time?
These are the most valuable things you have and once they are gone, you can not get them back.

Definitely a great shooter! And you are correct, it will never be sold (as long as I'm alive, anyway). My sons will have to fight over this one.

That's purty. I've got the 4" version of the same exact one, but your finish is much nicer. I keep wanting to source an 8" barrel for mine but never get around to it.

$1200ish probably. Decent Pistol Pacs are $2K+ now.The barrel shrouds are where the $$$$ is. Well, there and the uncommon calibers like .357 Maximum.

No help at all other then to say that's a wonderful revolver.

I have a 4" of similar vintage. In it's prime I would say the finish would rival anything with a prancing pony and for shootability it's easily the equal of any of my Smiths.

The cylinder release isn't really that hard to get used to.

I paid $350 OTD several years ago. No way would I sell it for that today.

I think you'll be so pleased with it you won't want to sell it.

Not totally sure myself on the worth.. But I will say. You've likely not shot many other off the shelf revolvers, that will compare.

Also likely, one of the best double action revolvers ever made.

IMHO.... as I have one.. I call it the confidence gun.. hand it to newbs, & they can't believe how well they can shoot with it.

Monson made DWs are supposed to be the best ones. Yours is a light barrel, the heavy models have a nice lug down the bottom.

Very accurate, nice smooth action, and you can put any barrel length you can find on there in about a minute.

No way I ever sell mine.

Your Dad had good taste in revolvers, indeed. You'll enjoy shooting that Model 15. Install a Hogue rubber grip and full-house 158 gr. loads will feel like shooting a .38. I have a 15, a Model 9 in .38 and a Model 22 and they are my favorite range revolvers.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!
