    How to purchase a handgun

Please feel free to share with newbies.

    How to Purchase a Handgun

    CartridgesSpringsSize
Handguns, like hands, come in all shapes and sizes. If you cannot properly hold the handgun and reach all of the controls, the handgun may not be appropriate to you. A handgun which is too large for you could mean that you cannot get a good grip, cannot properly pull the trigger or cannot operate the controls without moving the handgun around. Also see "Newton's Law" above.

Handguns designed for concealed carry tend to be smaller and lighter. With some designs, you may not be able to get more than a couple fingers on the grip, with your ring finger and pinky floating at the bottom of the grip. Depending on the cartridge that the handgun is designed for, you might not be able to keep hold of it at all without substantial practice. (Also see "Newton's Law," above).

They probably just need to expand on the FSC to include all firearms with your pertinent info added to the booklet/test and maybe include live fire certification. They can have an example of some generic guns with similar characteristics at this point so someone doesn't pick the wrong gun for them, one last chance to back out of the sale. The LGS that I work with is actually a gun range so no problem there, others would send their customers there for certification. Then people wouldn't need to search out or be told basic safety info when they go to the range or try to teach others.

        1. Read the roster and understand what you can and cannot buy from a dealer. If the roster doesn't list your favorite handgun in purple, you cannot buy it in purple.
        2. Repeat number 1.
        3. Go to LGS to try and buy.
        4. Only if #3 fails, order from the Internet after repeating steps 1 and 2 at least 20 times.
        5. If you are really set on getting your purple handgun, look for a PPT and be prepared to pay what the seller wants.
        6. No, you cannot take it home today. You cannot even pay extra to take it home today.
        7. What did you not understand about "you cannot take it home today?" and I don't care what your friends told you.

2b. Remember to bring the correct ID, Federal Limits Apply only will be turned away. If your name is not in the correct order as your CCW, you might be turned away. If your LGS is not knowledgeable of the rules you might be turned away. (Although at this point they've done so many sales they should be experts).

              How could this be?

How can you compare sales for this first six months of THIS year to sales during the same period A YEAR LATER (that period has not yet occured!).

We should have speech writing requirements for those that want to express their 1A too.

If you are actually serious about the bold then might as well get rid of 2A in CA. If that were a requirement there would be almost no new shooters. How can someone that doesn't own a gun, that requires a buddy to rent at the very few ranges that rent, pass a live fire exercise?

ETA: Oh .. and during C19 time when no gun range was allowed to be open there would have been 100s of thousands unable to exercise their 2A rights if your requirement was one. nevermind the closest range to someone might be tens or hundreds of miles away.
