    Why is DROS Fun?

    I'm a newbie . . . when I learned about DROS & it's meaning, I thought, "Ok, that's obviously a significant part of this whole process".

Then I heard someone one say, "I just started my DROS" . . . using it in a little different context. And then, when talking to my LEO buddy one day, he was referring me to an FFL and said, "I've DROS'd with that guy a bunch times" . . . And recently when my gun arrived at the dealer, he texted me and said, "DROS that Mo-Fo"!!! LOL !!!

I like that it went from an acronym, to kind of a pronoun, then to a verb !
This gun community is pretty cool.

    Have a good Labor Day . . . where ever you are DROS'ing !

The acronym is now also inaccurate. It should be "DROT", because it applies to any transfer, including private party transfers.

Yeah .... been unable to walk/stand for more than 5 minutes since I yoked my back at work 3 months ago. So yeah... a little stir-crazy. Cal Guns has been a great read during recovery ... keeping me from going bonkers.

I hated "DROS". It is the means to register one's firearm in the state database (and the 10 day waiting period). Thank God I don't have a DROS now.

Wouldn't consider it fun, just a word used to establish the start of the dreaded 10 day wait, now longer due to "elecoviots". Another word people use is jail. The "what do you have in jail" thread us pretty long.

Buying from an FFL in TX means DROS without a BGC because of my LTC. PPT, OTOH, is OK for C&C per the DOJ.

I can't stand doing a dros. If you can find a place like 2AZone, it makes it so much better.

"My recently-DROS'd leever car-bean is in jail, and I can't wait! to bail 'er out."

izzat adjectively? or adverb-O-tized? I forget.

No, nothing I have is recently-DROS'd. Not since before the dem-panic.

Lol, I guess it works as an adjective also.

                              Asinine. Can't relate.

There's nothing fun about 2nd Amendment infringements and underground legislation that morphed into outright registration (the DROS process was originally only meant to be a temporary file to be destroyed, not kept on record with the state).

This "gun community" you think is pretty cool, must be some other faction I've never heard of because none that I know thinks anything to do with 'DROS' is 'pretty cool, nor ever has. DROS is sure not a part of anything we want.

I can't recall anyone this glib about a crappy situation since Cousin Oliver joined up a flailing "Brady Bunch" in a disguise to improve ratings - pun on 'Brady' intended. That was asinine too, and so was that kid.

It's like this; do you think applying for a 'SUCK' process would be fun, which must be procured in order to garner approval from the California 'State Underwriting Committee of Knowledge' in order to get any item of writing approved for publishing?

Even when I was new to California 30 years ago, I never thought 'DROS' was fun, kitschy, or cool - or really any part of what makes up the supposed "gun community".
