    What to sell?

Looking to sell a gun to raise funds for another. LOL!!!! Haven't bought or sold a gun in a few years. I'm at my CA house at the moment. I left quite a few CA compliant guns here. What is selling well right now? Better to sell whole AR, or just parts?

    AR?
    AK?
    Ruger 22/45?

Or, should I sell an upper? I have a 5.45X39 upper I've never fired and a case of Russian ammo to go with it. After I bought it, I began reloading, so banging out a batch of .223 is cheaper than buying steel cased Russian ammo.

22’s still seem to be available right now, so even though your 22/45 is desirable for being off roster. I don’t think there’s any additional Covid premium on 22’s right now.

Lower dollar AR’s and AK’s will be easy to sell right now, and likely bring top dollar for what they are.

5.45 will be a tough sell IMHO

Depends on how much money you need/want. What are you wanting to buy? I'm guessing the 22/45 is the cheapest followed by the AR (unless it's really outfitted) and then the AK. But I have a thing for AKs so maybe I value them too high lol.

The 5.45 upper & ammo combo maybe a good choice but I have no idea how popular that caliber is. If I had the $$$ I'd certainly give it some thought since I like the 5.45.

I'm going to be selling my PSL but as a parts kit because the rivets are super ugly (did it at home after build parties were outlawed). Has original CHF barrel & matching numbers (except the gas tube). I need new tires & the PSL is my least favorite even though it is a good shooter and, despite the caliber, the recoil is easy on my arthritic shoulder. But I need the dollars and it should bring at least $1k.

I was wanting to raise $1000 or so, so I may sell a few things. The .22/45 is off roster? I bought it new at Turner's, though that was years ago. Weird.

I have enough parts to build 2-3 AR's so I may go that route. Not looking to price gouge, but wondering what they are selling for. Not seeing a lot in marketplace except people trying to sell mid range AR's for $1800. Yikes!!!!!

Are Saiga's desirable? I have one in 7.62 I was gonna convert but never got around to it. I never fired it.

I’d keep the Saiga, it’s only going to get rarer and the value will grow as well. Being unconverted is definitely a plus here in California

AKs are selling well right now. Not as much market for ARs, they haven't seen the same panic prices as other platforms. Check out Gunjoker for current Saiga prices. High asking prices but no action. Cut a couple few hundred off their starting prices and you'll be in the California ballpark of value. If that's your only AK though, I'd hang onto it or sell one less desirable. WASR's are inflated right now, but eventually will go back down.

I actually wouldn't sell anything. You just never know in this climate. I would hang on to all of it.

This is the first time I've thought about unloading some duplicates that never get enjoyed anymore. But I can never bring myself to do it arghhh.

                    Dump the AK.

I finally did during the LAST crunch, leading up to the 2012 election. I standardized on the 5.56 AR.

Keep the .22's - you need those for cheap training.

                          Haven't missed mine SINCE.

                          I DO have a PTR91 also, though.

Plastic guns seem to be selling. I think people want something user-friendly, and there's nothing in stores right now.

Rimfires don't seem to be selling.

Too many ARs in the marketplace right now, though most are the higher end variety, so a mid range, quality AR15 with decent parts might fetch a good price.

What part of California are you? In Southern California none of my PPTs have been longer than 30 minutes, walk-in without appointment.
