I think that I was very lucky none of the rounds went off. I havn't fired any of the rounds and I'm not sure if I should, I keep them on a shelf right above the dryer to remind myself to check my pockets.Comment

I found a 1911 magazine in a sock in the dresser. I was looking for my DMV paper work in book shelf and found the barrel for my VZ58. There was some lose round of .45 in the kitchen utensil drawer. I found a pound of powder behind the vacuum in the closet. I discover the 1919a4 tripod under the bed.sigpic

Magazines..... magazines are definitely a bit of a logistical nightmare. Sometimes I feel like I have magazines for my magazines. I do have entirely too many guns for one guy but I keep a fairly tight rein on them. I don't recall ever coming across one that I forgot I owned but I have gone looking for one and had it not be where it should be and had to really tear things up to find it because I put it in the notorious "safe place".

...when you start moving a pile of empty pistol boxes on a closet shelf - one seems a little heavy; you open it and discover a MKIV Series 70 that you haven't seen in about 10 years.I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!Comment

....when you open the safe, look at a gun and think "Huh? Where/when did I get that?"It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.
You alone and our own have earned it with...Your sweat, blood and lives. You own it forever.
The title is....."United States Marine".

Here's the flip side of too many guns - When you spot a gun you've always wanted at a good price, buy it, and get it home, only to discover you already have one.
I do that with gear on a regular basis, but not guns so far. I have more 10/22 mounts than I have rifles...
Magazines are a problem, especially when you have way more spares than you can regularly shoot.
I mark the gun type and mag number with a sharpie on the magazine. That comes off with many solvents, though, and it's easy to lose track of them when that happens. I've considered a paint pen and an engraving tools, but haven't tried either yet.
Once they're marked, I keep the current spares in a soft case with the gun, and the backups in a ziplock bag in a storage drawer. Still, I find them on a regular basis, sometimes full of ammo, and go "WTH is this for?!?" Then you have to cycle them through, one gun at a time...sigpic

I have washed cartridges, but only dried like one. Public laundomat too, I like hanging out with the illegals
About 95% of my guns I can remember where they are, what year I bought them, where, and what I paid. Amazing since this a 3 digit number and I can't remember anything else worth a damn!Comment

Liberals want my guns, conservatives want my porn. I'll part with neither.Originally posted by bwieseBe like me...I own over 100 AR mags I got before the ban set in. Hell, I bought a ton of other magazines as well...I can throw hicap mags on the floor and swim in them.
