Ever have one of those builds?

Ok, so I am putting together my first AR last night. Everything is going just fine until I got to the trigger/disconnector take down pin. I spent 2 1/2 hours trying to get the danged thing in, but no matter what I tried, I couldn't get all of the holes to line up to get the pin through. I took it in to the shop this morning, and they couldn't see anything wrong with it, but also were unable to get it put together. An armorer from one of the local bases happened to be standing there, and he also tried for half an hour, and couldn't get it together either. Finally he looked closely at the spring. The last coil on it flared out just wide enough to block the whole thing from going together. I clipped that coil off, and the whole thing popped together in about 30 seconds. Ahhhrgh! So it looks like I'll get to finish the rest of it tonight, and go play tomorrow. Oh well. Such is life.

Well, the rest of it went together in less than 10 minutes. Geez, these things are easy to put together. Unfortunately I have to wait until another take down pin gets here in the mail before I can do the next one, as I buggered one of them good last night. I'll try this one out at the range tomorrow.

Finally got this out to the range. What a hoot. I put a riser on it and slapped on a red dot scope. That was fun. I'm going to try to finish the second one tomorrow, and hopefully get it to the range this weekend.
