    Evolution Weapon Systems bufferless BCG

Rather than the traditional separate single buffer spring positioned behind the bolt carrier, Evolution Weapon Systems has built a multi-spring setup into the actual BCG itself.

If they're ever able to ramp up production, this is a very interesting option for AR pistols. Essentially a drop in solution at a very good price of $400.

Interesting. Looks like the sig mcx or brn180 or just about every other gun that is just another remanufacture of the AR18. I wonder if armalite still had access to the ar15 patents if they would have gone with this DI/internal piston intead of the short stroke piston.

Not watching the vid cause it's in portrait. But I have seen the design and other vids. I would need to know the failure rate and how that spring can be replaced if it gives problems.

My concern is this is vaporware. Solid concept as far as I can tell and it may actually work, but these guys may just be incapable of bringing it to market

That said, the guy in the video said he has fired about 400 rounds including steel and it functions flawlessly.

The springs appear meant to be user replaceable.

A few days ago I received my 2x Evolution Weapons System bufferless carrier assemblies.Included were:- Extra springs to mess around with upon my request (for my multiple calibers and setups): stronges

The guy says it's pretty different than the sig platform:

"I actually have an MCX Rattler 300 BLK/5.56. It actually is nothing like that. The MCX 2 spring design sits above the carrier, where this has 3 springs and sits behind and goes through he inside of the carrier."

This is super sweet and sexy. Does anyone know if it will work with the Cross Armory Quick Pins plus the Law Tactical Folding Adapter?

A local San Diego guy had a prototype short buffer and BCG, it didn't have more than 4 inches of buffer tube. The idea was a shorter AR pistol.

He never got that to work.

Another benefit looks like it'll be a big weight savings over a standard carrier.

It looks like he's getting some sort of out-of-battery detonation in a couple spots. You can see one at 11:52. I have a screen capture of it, but don't know how to post it since I don't have a photo sharing account anywhere.

Wouldn't that have resulted in a kaboom?
