Google sheets or Office 365 online, use formulas on ammo to calculate current inventory. Keep track of serial numbers and purchase prices, dates, warranties, etc., whatever you're interested in.

Take pictures separately, leave on cloud storage, copy to flash drive.

Ammo - Excel spreadsheet with one tab/page per firearm

Firearm info - I did not really find anything in the market I liked. So I took a little from here, a little from there, added C&R bound book fields and built my own in Microsoft Access. This allows me to do reports on individual firearms, summary reports with all firearms owned, log firearm modifications and replicate C&R bound book pages.

It was quite a bit of work to layout but once done gives me something useful.

That took me waaaay longer than it should have. You sonuvabeesh you!!!
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.

If it were for my job I would use a database. For toy computers I don't know.

Mysql is pretty powerful though, and is free.

Except at some point you lose track not only of how much you have, but what you have, and where it is. It's especially inconvenient if you get robbed. Or you think you have a certain type of ammo, but not sure, and you can't find it. After futzing with it for years, I have about 80% of my gun crap cataloged.

Make sure you have a separate offline and offsite backup for all important data. (3 data sets, online, offline backup, and offsite backup, sync as needed)

Every 20mm can is marked with a paint pen. And they're all right here.

                              Spreadsheet.
I have tabs to track ammo, details on each gun, including serial numbers, modifications, round counts, etc.
For some guns I keep detailed accuracy info, including pictures.

Best part of doing it yourself rather than using an app is you can make it suit your needs, add only what info you think is relevant, and can be suited to each different gun or type of gun rather than a one size fits all approach.

I agree with this. After looking at some of the options I might try Gun Ammo Inventory. In the description it says
"The app does not store any information on the cloud/internet; all data is securely stored in the app/device itself"
I checked permissions and the only permission it uses is storage.

It looks like it has some bugs and hasn't been updated in a couple years[emoji20]
