    Evacuation, Firearms & Ammo

We've been on evac warning/orders for how many days now? Just curious if others loaded up their guns and ammo in their bailout car, truck whatever. I feel sorta petty about it, but since there has been ample time to do so, why not. Doesn't take much gear anymore before you're well over 10's of thousands of $$$ in replacement cost. Plus we probably couldn't replace a huge portion of it anyway!
Sure is a pita tho, and my collection is modest. Thoughts/comments?

Bury the ammo and do not tell anyone. Can dig up later. Put in garbage sacks and tie off. Kids then pets then wife then firearms and valuable docs. Or docs before wife. (LOL) Good luck.

Four of us in our household. Two pickups, two SUVs. Two trailers (horse & utility).
If we had to move stuff, we could move a lot of it in one shot. Guns & ammo, for us, isn't the bulk or most expensive item.
We moved to a place that I can't forsee having to evacuate from. I've contacted family that might have to evacuate and we have secure room here for them.

I’ve been thinking of rigging a secondary fire riser system for the outside along side the vents and upwards towards the overhang tiles. Australia sells spark and ember arrest for vents but I haven’t seen any international shipping for the US. I also want to spray retardant inside the attic.

If your that close to the fire.
Do you have a car that you can attach a trailer to.
Go to uhaul and read a trailer for a week.
The 5x8 might fit in the garage.
You can load it up and leave it in the garage.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

If it was me, only older classic/wood war rifles would come along. Those are much harder to replace.

Plastic fantastics will be left to melt, except a couple ar rifle/pistol and glock for immediate crowd control.

I live a somewhat minimalist life. Yes I have things, but few that have any importance and could not be easily replaced.

After my kids (and I suppose the stupid cat), its our laptops, NAS, firebox of docs, then guns and ammo, then photos though most I want are digital already. If I have time I'd load up my press and supplies.

But I have a cargo trailer in storage that if I was under a warning it would be hooked up and full of the things I wanted to save.

And you have the time, you should be walking through your house and property recording all the items you have for insurance reasons
