What do you do with your firearms?
    Why
All firearms will go to my wife and children. Because I think taking an active role exercising the 2nd is an important part of American culture and values that needs to be passed on a preserved.

why can't they be buried with you, say in a large underground tomb, cut out of rock along with all your other stuff, like tools? For bonus points, paint the walls of the tomb in some really cool graphics that people 3000 years from now will find extremely difficult to interpret.

You leave your guns to someone who will appreciate them. To that end, I hereby volunteer OP if you don't currently have someone in your life who would appreciate them. I appreciate ALL guns. Because where there's a will...I need to be in it!

I had this discussion with my son (only kid). He told me he only wants my Colt Delta Elite 10mm, my Thompson Contender with all the barrels and my Ruskie SKS (he already has a mint Chi-com)...That's it! I've got a pretty nice WWII collection too and we doesn't want it. Oh well. I'll sell most of it off in 10 or 12 years...I'm 65 now.

I gave some away already to my 4 kids. My sons are much more interested than the daughters. I thought the boys should have a lifetime of enjoying them rather than waiting until they are late middle aged to inherit them. I recently made a list called "who wants dad's guns" with a description of each one. I got a couple more claimed that way. I've opened the list to two of my adult nephews that I got interested in shooting when they were teens. i told their mom that they can each pick one from the remaining list. For the rest, I'll keep them, shoot up the available ammo and when it is gone sell each one. If I croak before I've sold the last of them a friend has volunteered to help move them on. Another issue is the collection of accessories, parts, paraphernalia, reloading equipment, ammo, magazines, etc that are all over the garage and the shed. I need to ID the stuff and tag it so the right stuff goes with the right firearm.

That is a very good point. I've changed grips on almost all of my handguns and some of them more than once. I actually have four sets of grips for my Redhawk. I, like most of you, have extra magazines for all of my semi autos and magazine fed rifles. My guns are in racks in my safe but I kept all of the plastic boxes that they came in. I've been meaning to label everything and store them in boxes in one location so everyone gets what goes with each gun. I put my daughter in charge of that and she also has the combination to my safe.
