BUIS recommendations

My buddy just bought a new DPMS upper from PSA. He wants a good quality flip buis, front and rear. Can anyone recommend a good quality set?

Sometimes you got to read the room. "PSA and DPMS" Tell your friend to look for a set aero precision buis or magpul pros. Id take magpul pros a million times over best bang for the buck. Those options are are about $150 a set. Something more budget friendly would be magpul polymer buis they used to be $50 a set now about $80. Shop gundeals and Calguns marketplace.


Remember BUIS means back up iron sights. Back up as in they aren't used 99% of the time if you're running an optic. If no plans to buy a optic I still recommend the magpul pros.

I have only rear flip-ups, my main AR has a Troy sight, excellent quality. My other ones have older A.R.M.S. #40 Low Profile sights, also GTG.

OP, get back ups that actually lock in the up position.

Troy is a dick but makes good sights.

If you can get a knights site they are pretty good, as are MaTech which are both .mil issue.

But plastic sights? Meh.

I'd skip them and put the money in a better optic.

Later on if he really wants them, LWRC skirmish sights are my favorite, and Magpul poly are good enough.

I prefer the Magpul Mbus Pro, even though they are way over priced. Low profile when folded down.

A lot of guys recommend steel or aluminum buis. My rifles gets banged around (pun intended) quite a bit. I’ve been using Magpul since the plastic recovers it’s shape pretty much. The steel or aluminum not so much. Use what you like and put the same thing on every rifle for commonality.

Magpul MBUS. In actual destructive tests, it survived better than anything made from metal. And it weighs less.

I will say I like the Troys I have. I don't like the plastic Magpul MBUS or the Yankee Hill that I bought.
