    Score, but makes you think...

Someone left 2 boxes of fired .338 LM brass at the range. It was the only brass there besides a bit of .22lr laying around. I just happen to have one and will probably use it later but it really makes you think, some people just have money to burn... Speaking of burn, ash everywhere and orange sun today.

Not all of us reload or plan too. To much hassle to collect and sell it. Last trip out dude asked for the brass tried to even offer me a few bucks. Said he would normally wait for me to leave but he's on his way out. I was like have at it my guy.

I think some people just don't care. Which is OK.

I was at the range and these two guys get the station next to me and fire off a couple hundred rounds or so through a Scar.
They were about to start putting it in the range bucket when I said, "I'll sweep that up if you don't want it. It was good stuff.

No problem with that sir, just wish I had money to burn too. Also same range, someone left a bunch of 416 barrett cases a different time. Range scrappers got it.

Maybe. But we're not talking about 9mm or 5.56. 338 Lapua is an expensive round and even the brass is worth $2-3 each.

I wasn't talking 9mm or 556 either it was actually 100 rounds of .458 guy mentioned brass being about .75 a round. He noticed I was just sweeping it forward. Thats why he asked for it.

I forgot or didn't want to go through the trash to confirm 1 firing. It looks like it though.

Was at American Shooting Center in San Diego about 5, 7 years ago.

In the lane next to was a guy (FBI agent I found out later) teaching his sister how to shoot three round bursts out of an agency issued M-16 (or modified AR?).

They shot about 2,000 rounds and let me keep the brass.

We left at the same time and spoke in the lobby. Todd him I was retired navy and thanked profusely for letting me have the brad because I reload for my AR. His response, "why didn't you ask? Is have let you shoot a magazine."

I was so happy listening to them shoot and collecting the brad, I didn't even consider asking.

I don't shoot anything exotic and I don't reload so I don't save my brass.

Thanks for the brass. Exotics are more subject to periodic shortages but probably haven't gone up in price compared to 9mm and 223. My friend has a Tokarev or Makerov that he has to buy ammo for when he sees or special order.

Honestly just comes down to how easily acquirable the ammo is; 9mm, .45, or .223? I'm just going to leave the brass behind.

Exotic mil-surp cases or .30-06 brass to reload for the Garand? That I'll at least bother to pick up and reload.
