Best range exercises to improve groupings?

Hi all, first thread here 👋

recently purchased my first rifle, FN DMR II currently outfitted with a XPS2-2 (until I can save up for a nice scope lol)

So far I've put about 500 rounds down at the indoor range nearby. they go out to about 20 yards and i'm able to hit within an inch or two between shots standing up

Wanted to know if there's any good exercises or mental drills I can do to improve my aim. as of now, I kind of just pick a number on the target and empty the mag. I'm aware of checking yourself to make sure you're not flinching etc by dry firing. (also hoping getting a some glasses that don't slip off my face while shooting will help lol)

    Any info will be appreciated!

    Jim Owens' shooting books:
    jarheadtop.com

These are the two to read:
"Sight Alignment, Trigger Control & The Big Lie"
    "Leather Sling and Shooting Positions"

Welcome, unfortunately you just need to have a lot of ammo. Sounds like you got standing and shooting at one target mastered. Youtube will have some drills you can try. But it's really about muscle memory.

And there's different disciplines too, do you want to just stand and shoot straight? Alternate numbers simulating multiple targets? Your range probably won't let you kneel or go prone but there's that too. What about jumping jacks and pushups before shooting? All accuracy goes out the door when you're just slowly walking. Shooting weak hand and behind cover. Get creative. You'll probably need an outdoor unmonitored range for that.

Dry firing maybe. Do it at home. Have someone else put a dime out on the end of the barrel and try to keep it on there while dry firing.
