PPT refusal at American Gun Works in Glendale

I come in for a PPT. Didn't realize I brought a registration that expired on day 9 if we were to dros(totally my fault. In addition every FFL I've been to require second proof of residency for release). Worker says we can't PPT because it expires in 9 days. He says they accept a lease agreement. I make a 40 mile round trip home to get the lease agreement.

I come back. I have a diff staff member look at the lease agreement because the previous guy I dealt with is serving a customer. I hand the lease agreement to this lady. She talks to her coworkers about it because she seems iffy. Ask if anything is wrong. She cant point out anything that invalidates it. Then she says "just this one time". I then let her know its a PPT. "Sorry we cant for PPTs". Suddenly its not good for PPTs. This is a PPT refusal right? Oh and customer service sucked ***. Very rude nonverbals to say the least. On the bright side this event made me discover Guns Direct in Burbank. Awesome experience, great staff, quick and stream line operation.

Never been there. Sounds like you were dealing with an employee who's not fluent with what is and what is not permitted. No matter, glad you found a business you like out of the ordeal

What did the original worker say about the situation?

Guns Direct is great for buying and doing PPTs. Excellent customer service, always a pleasure to shop there.

American Gun Works (once King's Gun Works) is great for going in and looking over the overpriced refinished or butchered C&R items, when you have some time to kill, and then leaving.

Going into 'American Gun Works' is like what one does at 'Gun World' for new-production guns, because there is no point in considering new production guns at American Gun Works, as they make 'Gun World's' inventory and prices look like a utopia.

Guns Direct is very cool but I recently did some business literally 1 block away at Burbank Ammo and they were very cool also. I kind of preffered there since they take your phone #and call you when it's your turn instead of waiting in line outside Guns Direct. America gun works.... Did a PPT there years ago and felt like a dungeon with unpleasant service.

That's weird because I 've ppt with a license that is about to expire 2 days after ppt. And was told I was lucky because in 2 days i wouldn't beable to ppt until i get my new license. So as long as it was vaild at time of dros I was good to go.

Got my first shotgun (Winchester 37a in 20ga) at Kings Gun Works in 1976.
Wasn't really impressed with the store even then.

After that B&B Sales was my go to.

Western firearms in Bell no appointment needed in and out in 20 minutes. Do not be the dummy that shows up without proper docs.

                      Mrmauser,

I have done a lot purchases and transfers with Jeff and the gang at AGW. They are a nice bunch, I know everyone there. There have been times though, where I have gone in to do a PPT. And for some reason they could not do it. DROS system issues, and so on.
If you want to go somewhere else, that is your right. But give them another chance, if see fit. They are strict, paperwork savvy. Good luck with your PPT. A2

                        Really shocked to hear this.

I go to American Gunworks for all my PPT's and shipping.

Never a problem or hassle and they always seem to get it done quickly and easily.

Was there three weeks ago and there was a line out front. Worker would come out and bring the next customer in and canvass the line to see what people needed.

No one was "kicked" for a PPT or anything else. My turn came and I went in and shipped a rifle to my son in Florida. No problem.

I wonder if there is more to the story or just a bad day at the shop.

                            Western guns

Western firearms in Bell no appointment needed in and out in 20 minutes. Do not be the dummy that shows up without proper docs.
The salesman at Western in Bell does not know the law, He refused to do a transfer because the buyer didn't have the "real ID" driver's license. His licenses did NOT say "federal limits apply" which cannot be used as an ID.
we went to American gun works in glendale, they accepted it without any issues.
Also the salesman at western claims a gun has to be disassembled when transporting it, My gun was in a locked container, unloaded, he insisted it was illegal.

As far as I know, if you don't have a "Real ID" you have to have a 2nd photo ID to go with your driver's license regardless of what it says or does not say on the driver's license.
