If this is BLM land, can I shoot here?

These areas are marked as BLM land on the interactive map from the official BLM web site. Does this look like it's an area you can shoot at? The dirt road doesn't appear to have a gate from streetview, but I'm also not sure about whether you're supposed to use these roads or not.

I plan on calling the office tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone has some insight on here.

Let me know if you can. I’m from Merced and have been looking for some BLM land near me.

Not sure with those houses so close, it might turn into a issue if they call the police.

Yea, that's what I was thinking about the first one. The second coordinate to the southeast seems like that shouldn't be as much of a factor, though. Especially since the BLM land extends pretty far down south right there so I could go further down.

Too many near houses and roads. Someone will call the police.

However, a trip to the BLM field office will get you a definite yes or no. Is the BLM land within city limits or incorporated county area?
^^ Said by some lunatic on the internet

It's a county area. I'm gonna call them and ask about this exact coordinate which is further south a little bit https://goo.gl/maps/iQp76M7sCo3RCX9d9. If not, I'll just go by Coulterville.

Isn't all blm under fire restriction right now ? If you do get a green light, remember, no shooting on or across public roads. (even dirt roads)

Not if it's Black Lives Matter land, they can do anything they want.

Sorry, i don't have any info. about that particular area but make sure you have done research first (like you are now) before talking to them, and don't hesitate to ask further questions of them. Not saying there are all like this, but I went to my local BLM office once to do the same exact thing. The guy at the counter told me it would be better if I drove somewhere else (another hour's drive), and he did his best to steer me away from the location I was asking about. Not sure if he was pushing his personal agenda or what, but he was wrong about the location I was attempting to confirm. Not the first time a federal land official gave me bad info based on either good intentions, outright dishonesty, personal feelings, or what have you. Good luck!

I believe it is, but the current restriction makes no mention of shooting outside of certain ammo types at the moment.
