A while back I posted a thread about me moving back to CA; and while that one was centered around my mp5 pistol(and idk if I can restart an old thread)...what about ar and AK pistols. Can they be brought into ca? A fixed mag should fix the problem with legalities right?😅. A fixed mag works a lot better for an AR, but idk about for an AK pistol. Any possible suggestions on this matter?

Question about AR & AK pistols

Waiting for an expert to answer this question. I think the roster might come into play even though you own the pistols already. -
Has to be fixed mag and no more bullet button option. Only legal way to remove mag is to have upper detached from lower first. AR Mag lock, Compmag, DFT mag, or even BF10 are some options to make it legal.𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟙 ⋆ 𝓓𝓸𝓭𝓰𝓮 // ⋆ 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓵𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓰𝓮𝓻 ⋆ 🎲 𝓡/𝓣 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓽 𝓟𝓪𝓬𝓴 ⋆ 𝓢𝓱𝓪𝓴𝓮𝓻 ⋆ 🐝💨💨 𝟛𝟡𝟚 ◾ 𝓗𝓔𝓜𝓘 ◾ 𝟞.𝟜𝓛 ◾ 𝓥𝟠 𝟜𝟠𝟝 𝓗𝓟 ◾ 𝟜𝟟𝟝 𝓛𝓑-𝓕𝓣 ◾ 🇺🇸Comment

Two points to keep in mind:
1) The fixed mag only works if it is ten rounds or less. A semi-auto pistol with a fixed mag of more than 10 rounds is still an "Assault Weapon."
2) If you're returning to California as a "New Resident" you can legally import pistols that are in a legal configuration. If you're returning to California as a resident, you'll need to ship your firearms to a California FFL and then collect them in the state, and the roster will apply to handguns. We've got a ton of threads on this.If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.Comment
