That tracks. But the bigger and obscure the round the more they are not inflated. The only way to get it cheaper is to order in bulk and have it delivered to a small FFL that is willing to do it without charging a lot or to become an FFL yourself but you'd have to shoot a lot in order to make it worth your while in taxes and fees to operate. I reload so have not looked into it.

The rise of prices have made me bump my game up. I can buy 10mm and 7.62 for the prices of 9mm and 5.56, respectively, so that's what I'm buying and shooting now.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Like the other member posted, https://ammoseek.com/ is an excellent source for real time info. Target Sports has zero 5.56mm ammo for sale & only one brand of .223 FMJ 55gr for .60 cents a rd.

"Do you think it will continue to climb"?

        Absolutely.

Just curious to see what you guys are seeing.

            I’m finding .223/5.56 for 0.60-0.90 cents a round.

Have you guys seen it any cheaper? Do you think it will continue to climb?
            Yes, yes.
Marketplace is the perfect example, the more expensive they put ammo for sale, the more it sells. $.60 CPR for 9mm is the new normal.

Breweries are experiencing shortages of aluminum to can their beverages. Brass and copper are rising in price as well. We may be entering a "new normal" with ammo prices. I dont think it will remain at ninety cents per 9mm, but the days of seventeen cents per are likely gone for good.

I got another 500rds. of M193 coming, at $.50/rd. delivered. That'll probably be it for a while... maybe...

Got some factory 2nds from Midway, 10c per tip. I feel ripped off as I used to get em for 7c.

$.30 CPR I think that's where the price will stabilize one day. Hopefully before I die.

If Biden wins and appoints Beto to take away our guns you can expect a 50% ammo tax proposed by Democratic Congressman Hank Johnson of Georgia to pass congress. This Democratic bill by the way also slaps a 30% additional tax on any firearm not outlawed by the so called assault weapon bill proposed by several Democrats.

I just picked up 2 boxes of 00 buckshot 25 rounds each Estate from Wally world this morning they had plenty on the shelf at 18 bucks per bx. They still have 1/2 pallet of shotshells on the floor waiting for someone to come along with a dolly and load it up. Buy it while you can if you need it and the price is right.

CA wallys no longer sell ammo from what the store personnel tell me. Where are you?

I just came here to gloat over I reload and don’t care how much ammo costs.

Hint: if you can, you should join us gloater before the next panic.
