I've often wondered how blue/black slide and hard chrome/stainless grip frame became "reverse" two-tone over the years.

When the two-tones became mainstream back in the 70's/80's (mostly on 1911's) you always saw them with dark slides and light colored grip frames. Now the manufacturers deem that as "reverse". I still consider it the standard (and best) of the two-tone finishes. I don't like bright slides reflecting sunlight back in my face.

"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"

The two tone 1911’s with the black slide and the silver frame really trip my trigger.
Been wanting to buy a stainless kimber raptor and a black kimber raptor and switch the slides for a long time.

The only two tone I have is a Glock 22 with a black slide and OD green frame. I wouldn't mind having more.

Those are very nice, I also am fortunate to have a Gold Cup Elite IX also. My earliest 2 tones were Colt 1911 custom builds from approx 1980.

Almost forgot I had this one, until the 1980s called and asked for it back!

This is the only picture I have of my OD Glock 22. The Henry Big Boy was picked up on the same day.
