ar15 Safety wont go to Safe!

I've got a LMT lower with a LMT 2 step/Geissele 3G trigger, and with the hammer down, I can't move it from 'fire' to 'safe'. With the hammer back, the safety works just fine,my hk mr556a1 works fine buy not in LMT lower, anyone know why?is a problem in lower or in trigger part?

I thought this was normal? Pretty sure that is the way it is supposed to work.

This is how the safety works on both my RRA 2 stage triggers.

LMT is an AR-15 type. That's how they work.

That's how you know your hammer isn't cocked. By design. Maybe take a class on ARs.

Also may want to read your Hk manual again, which would have told you:

Selector/Safety Lever – Allows the operator to select the mode of fire and place the firearm on safe. The selector lever is manually activated and unlike competing AR systems, can be switched to safe even if the hammer is not cocked.

So you have a nice HK (except for the fake rail), a Nightforce, a nicer Vortex, you’re in the market for a SCAR, you’re trying to figure out how to zero your scope without shooting it...I suggest you spend some money on actually shooting your gun.

Guys learn your weapon systems... this is how a safety works on an AR.

Doesn't exactly answer your question about this but nice to know so you are aware the safety is operational.

OP, don’t listen to thes jack holes.

I can’t seem to engage the safety on my AK with the bolt back either.

In fairness, to OP, I’m trying to think of which other rifles I can’t engage the safety without the hammer back and I can’t think of one.

I’ll have to try my Mosin but I think you’d have to pull real hard.
