    ATF interviews FFL03/C&R applicants?

A little background is needed. Met and FFL dealer at Emergency First Aid class.
He stated that the ATF was not approving any 03 licenses unless you could prove that you were a collector of C&R guns, and that you would have to have an interview with them before approval. I have looked and looked and cannot find any info on this.
    Your help is appreciated.

Members have been getting their 03 recently and never heard any of them being interviewed.

When I got mine many years ago (at least 20), I had a brief telephone call from ATF. Only time I've every heard from them except to renew by mail.

I started the process on July 13 and haven't heard anything yet from the ATF. I hven't heard anything about the ATF doing an interview to prove that I am a collector.

          2. Never point the muzzle at anything you aren't willing to destroy.
          3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.
          4. Know your target and what is beyond it (avoid all collateral damage).

I've never seen or spoken to an ATF agent regarding my 03.

I was never interviewed for mine. I applied, was approved, and never heard from them until I got the renewal packet.

I think Moses (Biblical Moses) and I got ours about the same time. In 2014 they showed up at my door and asked to see my books and weapons. I showed them to them and the local sheriff's department/state agents. when one of them tried to take over the fed told them to they were there as guests an he found nothing wrong. he explained to me they could do an inspection but rarely did unless asked. A little hint there. Never had a problem with renewals and always on good terms. he offered a couple of suggestions and left. If you are going to have trouble expect it to be local not federal if you are keeping your nose clean. give me the feds any day over the local or state people.

From what I have seen, if they want to audit an 03, it's often because they saw you on the books of an 01 or 02 that had some irregularities during their audit.

Sounds like BS to me. We should know shortly, a lot of 03 FFL applications pending for members here.

I'm calling FUD. Never have been contacted by ATF regarding my 03, even when I changed the state location. Just got a new license with a new number. No other 03 I know did anything other than apply and get it.

20 years with an 03. Not even a phone call.

(Of course tomorrow the SWAT team will hit my door!!)

Also note that FFLs are "shall issue". If the applicant meets the requirements as defined in law, the ATF must issue. They don't get to decide who gets one, and they don't get to change the requirements on a whim.
