    High Point carbines

Can I sell HPoint carbines without fin grips?
Can the grip be installed by the buyer before the ppt?
Or do I have provide them, anybody makes them?
    Thanks

Sorry, I’m not familiar with these. Can you just remove the pistol grip?

It is illegal (felony) to advertise for sale or transfer a firearm that meets the CA definition of an assault weapon. [PC 30600(a)]

It is illegal (felony) to possess a firearm that meets the CA definition of an assault weapon. [PC 30605(a)]

Starting 01-01-2017, "bullet button" style magazine locks are no longer CA legal devices that make a fixed magazine.

From the factory, the Hi-Point Carbine is cosidered an assault weapon due to it being a semi-auto centerfire rifle that does not have a fixed magazine and has a pistol grip. [PC 30515(a)(1)(A)]

Starting 07-01-2018, in order to be CA legal as a non-RAW, the Hi-Point Carbine needs to be in one of the following configurations:
      A. Fixed magazine.
^It has a 10 or less round magazine that can not be removed from the firearm without disassembling the firearm's action or that is permanently attached in the firearm's magazine well. (weld/epoxy/rivet the magazine into the pistol grip)
      B. Featureless.
^It does not have any features that meet the definition of an assault weapon. (install a grip fin/wrap)
      C. Disassembled parts.
^It is disassembled into parts and kept that way. (barreled receiver is removed from stock and stored/transported in seperate containers)

As long as the Hi-Point Carbine is configured in one of the three aforementioned configurations, then it is CA legal to advertise for sale and transfer in CA.

No, it is molded into the chassis and also serves as the mag well.

OP, I believe Monkeyboii makes 995 wraps if you need one. I made my 995 grip wrap with about $4 in scrap parts.

Anyone else think it's ridiculous that these are considered an "assault weapon?"

Of course. But with the pistol grip and a thumb wrapped around it, you could dual wield them, shooting from the hip while yelling "get to the choppa!".

And much like the thought of rampant nunchuck fighting in the streets, our legislators aren't having any of that fantasy scenario - so they took action!

Of course you could dual wield anything and shoot anything from the hip, but these laws aren't about common sense - they are about whittling down our options to eventually none. So they make up ridiculous reasons for banning 'evil features' and here we are...
