I went out today to zero two new pistols. A CZ Rami and a P-01.
Both were cool, but I may have made a mistake in buying the TFX Pro sight for the P-01. I can shoot them very well at 7, 10 even 15 yards. One raggedy hole at 10 yards. But I can’t hit a 6 inch shoot-n-c target consistently at 25 yards. The front sight blade covers the whole target. Sometimes I hit the bullseye, sometimes I’m no where. I let it go, I’ll practice more next time. But I confirmed zero off hand at 15. I’m on. I zero'd at 25 yards adn got a 4 inch group without seeing what my target. I called it good.
This was also the first time I shot DA from a holster. After a warm up, I can draw and fire a shot with my Glocks in 1.1 to 1.2 seconds. If I am really having a good day, I've clocked 0.8 seconds.
With the CZ-P01, I was average 1.75 seconds. Granted this is the first time, I'm still kinda bummed that the time penalty is that long. The first mag, I couldnt even hit a 12 yard IPSC target from the draw. By the 3rd magazine, I was getting it though. I can hit the target consistely now at 1.75 seconds, but I feel I'll need a refresher on my next range trip.
BTW, I am going to sand a spot on my checkered LOK grips. Its eating my right hand thumb knuckle raw. That same spot where 1911's have a thumb grove, that spot is killing me on the LOKs.
I also brought some hand loads that I developed and loaded in 2018. I haven’t shot this rifle that long lol
Well, I never predicted this result in my ladder tests, but today, I ran them through my chrono, and the 20 rounds I measured, velocity was a little low, 2680 FPS average, I was hoping for 2750, but SD was 6 and ES was 13. I was stoked!

I proceeded to pummel a 10 inch plate at 625 yards. I enjoyed that.
The groups and metrics above are from range pick up brass and there was a 10-15 mph wind today. I have brand new Starline 5.56 brass in the workshop and am quite excited to see what uniform brass will do to for my reloads.
There were these two really cool guys next to me at the rifle range. They were great to talk to, and they offered to let me shoot their rifles. I didnt say no to shooting a 6.5 PRC. It was awesome! Thats a 6.5 PRC next to my own 5.56. Everything about the PRC is 3X more.

It was a great day at the range.
Please, no thread crapping! lol
