Beretta 21A Bobcat slide issues

Hello, just curious if anyone has experienced this issue before. During disassembly the slide pops up and releases from the spring, but it does not have enough room to clear when pulling it forward, it feels jammed. I have scoured youtube and forums and have attempted to push back in the pin holding the ejector on the left side.

I think the barrel being too far forward allows the slide to jump off, maybe try pivoting the barrel less? Used to have a friend that had one, but that was years ago so I’m a bit rusty on those little guys.
