Travel armor seems to imply that you used to be able to put handguns in a soft sided case and just throw them in your suitcase? It hasn't been that way for as long as I've been flying with guns. Does not appear to be any different today than it was a month ago.

Nothing has changed in years. This is a poor way to promote your product.

            Lots of calGuns wrong today

If true and enforced, This is actually a rule clarification that will change how a lot of people travel with expensive items AND firearms. It closes a loophole that is common.

Example, a large pelican case can be used as your firearm container and fitted with non tsa locks and packed with all your normal luggage items or laptop etc. as long as you toss a box of .22 in there.

It has been that way for a long time and other things besides ammo or firearms qualified. Flare guns, starter pistols, I have even heard airsoft guns.

This guy has been flying with 81mm mortar cases made of steel as luggage for years, with high security locks.

The TSA website doesn't have that update and neither does any other gun website/forum that I check regularly.

There was no briefing on policy changes when I started work today..... when policy changes happen we know before you read it on the internet.

I've flown several times with a large hard-sideded case containing a pistol, a folded Kel-Tec rifle, ammunition in original factory cardboard boxes, unloaded magazines and a large knife.

The only thing that ever gave me problems was a large "brick" of Mainstay subsistence bars which are basically shortbread cookies. Who knows what that looks like on the scanner but in retrospect I can see why it may have raised some eyebrows.

Without a reference and link to a TSA document my inclination is someone is trying to sell something and nothing in the real world has changed.

another marketing lie. as long as the firearm is properly secured nobody cares if its a amazon basic box (a better product because it is made of metal) or whatever magical wonder box this guy is trying to sell.

This is not new! I have been traveling with firearms for about 5 years and TSA (or the contracted co.) have always operated this way when I flew/fly.

Always had to be hardsided locked case. If handguns I put hardsided locked case inside my locked suitcase. 11 pounds of ammo always. You can never have to much ammo.

Is the op involved with defense training that sells the cases.?
