    Beretta 92FS spots on muzzle

I have a brand new 92FS and just noticed spots on the tip of the muzzle.
    Is this normal?

Brand new as in "unfired"? Usually pistols are fired once by the manufacturer for quality control. Guns also come from the factory with various lubes and residue. Looks normal to me. My 92fs usually gets that same look after a range session. I lightly moist a rag with hops 9 cleaner and give it a quick polish it disappears.

A clearer pic would be better, but they frequently don't clean them at the factory after they test fire. It is probably residue from that. Does it wipe off?

I dunno, you need to zoom in more and make the pic a little larger...

As already requested, lets see a better pic.

                  Here's one of mine.

"Spots"?! Probably okay on a Beretta Cheetah, but not so much on a 92FS. The pic just keeps getting bigger, not clearer. Perform a routine cleaning and lube, and get to shootin'.

                      Dear Time Destroys Everything.

                      Any details?

Was this pic taken of the muzzle when the gun was brand new out of the box prior to being fired by you?

After its been fired? if so, after how many rounds? What kind of ammo?

                      Before or after cleaning?

                      Help us help you.

It's defective and dangerous. Beretta won't cover it under warranty either. I'll drop and pick it up so you don't hurt yourself.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

That is firing residue from factory testing, showing up on the hard chrome plated bore - plating that spills over onto the muzzle.

If it bothers you, wipe it off with Hoppe's #9. As soon as you shoot it, the spots will be back, with friends.

If you suspect that the gun has been used, show us clear pictures of the frame's slide rails. Also, the entrance to the magazine well. If the black anodizing is worn off extensively, chances are the piston fired more than 10 rounds...

If the pistol does not have a hard chrome plated bore, someone stole the bluing at the muzzle...
