    Can you sell reloaded ammo?

Are there any laws that prohibit the private sale of hand loaded ammo?

    Can you sell reloaded ammo?

    Hey Calgunners,

I have a question for you, can an individual sell ammo that you have personally hand loaded? This is for both California and the other fortunate 49. How do people go about this?

Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. And please forgive me if this question has already been asked.

I seem to recall a license is required. I'm sure someone will come along with the answer.

So how do you dispose of unwanted ammo? Toss it in the trash?

Take it apart, sell/re-use the components.

Reloads will void any mfg warranty. Also, people are Leary of others reloads. I’m in the same boat as I’ve got Bucoo reloads , some I loaded almost 30 years ago.

^^^ Correct unless you have the proper FFL lic for manufacturing ammo and probably a local business lic also

Ah, but! If he hands you the shells, primers, powder and bullets, and you don't spend any of your money, then is this the same requirement of a license. My charge is usually a case of good German beer (not drinking while reloading).

The guy who sold reloads to the Las Vegas shooter has been recently charged with selling ammunition without a license. That should answer the OP's question about legality...

I asked the same question to the FFL ammo shop when the new CA ammo law in affect, and here the answer.

Yes, you need A LISENSE to sell "your brand" of ammo, your reload ammo is "your brand" ammo.
The new CA ammo law said that only the FFL can sale ammo, transfer ammo, and receive ammo.
Some guys will said that they can receive the online ammo send to their house and they forget to said that they had FFL type 3 license.
