Actually I have heard they are back to normal, mainly because there are no guns to be bought in stores right now and that has allowed DOJ to catch up. And from the few stores I have been to recently, I believe it. They have been picked clean.

I am in a 10-day wait right now on a PPT, so we'll see.

Not to scare you or anything but I have a friend who is now in his mid 60's. He has purchased numerous firearms over the years. Most with no problem but every once in awhile he would get denied due to him and a friend taking a car for a joyride back when he was a teenager sometime in the early 70's. And other times it would come back because someone with his same name but lived in Florida was found guilty of something that made him a prohibited person. My friend never lived in Florida.

I'm not sure how he fixed it but he was always able to get the firearm. About 10 years ago, he moved to Texas. His 1st gun purchase was denied due to the situations mentioned above. He then applied for, and got his CCW (LTC?) which allows him to buy a gun and walk out with it.

He finally got bit in the azz when he wanted to buy a suppressor. He got denied and that was that.

OP, welcome to the party. I just would cover up your "Thug Life" tattoo when you go to DROS.

Posts such as this always reminds me of the gun shop customer who was denied said,
" Oh! That felony, but it was almost two years ago."

Just a follow up. I was approved and picked up my new gun today. The DROS 10 day period was up on Sunday and the LGS is closed on Sunday. I called this am (Monday), and I was good to go.
It was a great experience with a very knowledgable and friendly group of employees, they even sold me 3 boxes of ammo. I will definitely be giving them more of my business.

I did ask the employee about my arrest at 17 years old and he said "For a gun purchase, they most likely didn't even see it". He did say that if I ever decide to apply for a CCW that they may see it and ask me about it. He thought that, being that it was so minor, and that it was over 33 years ago, he didn't think there would be a problem . . . He said, 'just tell them what happened if they ask'.

Anyways, just wanted to report back on my 1st gun purchase, a very positive experience. Looking forward to practicing and further purchases!

As long as you have no Felonies or Violent misdemeanors ( Domestic Violence) your fine from a criminal standpoint. Also cannot have a current restraining order.

I must be squeaky clean. I have managed to buy 3. 9 month wait on each.

                        Thanks for the update.

Now go buy more ammo, if you can find it.

Congratulations and welcome to the insanity.
