A Gun Control Idea I Could Get Behind

Do not misconstrue what follows. We were all this person, these people once. I get that.
Because, as just one for instance, when these otherwise kind, thoughtful well intentioned people show up at a public line with a gun they have precisely zero idea how to f'ing operate, they do stupid, dangerous s**t. They are a danger to themselves and everyone around them.

And?LOL. WHile I expected some push back on this forum, I have to say I was not expecting such intensity.
I think most of you are missing the point, perhaps intentionally. I am not particularly concerned about the NFAC members who got shot. If you choose to line up with comrades whose training and proficiency you are not sure of, I am fine with the assumption of the risk argument.
The point is, this is not the first time we have seen opposing militias at protests, and it won't be the last. Pit a few hundred rabid believers with AR's and plenty of ammo on one side side against a few hundred equally rabid believers with radically different beliefs on the other side, also with AR's and plenty of ammo, and it is just a matter of time until you have an all-out battle that will make the riots to date look tame. What do you think would have happened if, instead of hitting three of his brothers-in-arms, the NFAC guy had hit three Three Percenters instead? Do you think someone would have returned fire? And if that happened, do you think the NFAC would have retired from the field , saying, "oops, our bad, sorry, that was misunderstood?"
We have seen the reaction when lone wolf lunatics open up with an AR. These militias have the potential to touch off something on an altogether different scale. If it does, watch what happens to your Second Amendment rights then.
An earthquake could strike at any time killing thousands. Should we outlaw living in CA? Are you really suggesting we make laws based on everything that could happen?iTrader: 52 transactions, 100% positive.Comment

What if the Jolly Green Giant suddenly started gunning down babies in the name of Ralph Waldo Emerson? Two problems with this line of reasoning:
1. When you have literally hundreds of armed militias on each side, the potential for collateral damage is huge. These guys were not facing off at dawn in a cornfield on the other side of the river. It was a densely populated urban environment. 5.56 is known for some serious penetration. What about the people living in Louisville? What about the LEO's who will have to try to get in between? Plus, in this case, like many others, the militias are layered on top on an unrelated protest or demonstration. So if you don't want to be a combatant, you have to stay home and hide under the bed, because the militias are out today? Hmmm, anyone else's First Amendment rights being impacted? If the NFAC makes good on their promise to come back and "burn the motherf****r down" in four weeks, you have to just leave town?
2. Look at the history of gun control. We have seen multiple waves triggered by mass shootings, usually a lone gunman. Sometimes severe reactions without any shooting. California started down it's current anti-gun rights path when Reagan was governor and the Black Panthers showed up armed at the state Capital. Can you imagine the danger to the Second Amendment when full on street battles start erupting? ANTIFA and their allies start showing up with AR's instead of just rocks and Molotov Cocktails?
Bro, just quit. Your schits all phucked up and retarded.
Nobody’s on board with some ridiculous gun control push based on some hypothetical scenario you’ve convinced yourself of happening sometime in the future.Comment

I think you're clueless. If open battles between militias become the norm do you think anyone is going to give a damn what the politicians try to enact against the 2nd A?

I want to thank my fellow members for an enlightening and civil exchange of views.
I really, sincerely, honestly, hope I'm wrong about coming street battles between rival militias. Because if I'm right, things are going to get a lot worse for us.

OP, I don't want to see adults act like children either. I see enough of that every day in this leftist paradise I call home. Though I disagree 100% on this one, I do appreciate you sharing the idea. I feel there is a better "gun control" system that could be devised. It has more to do with required training and less to do with firearm restrictions. Its a system that seems quite logical to me, but I choose not to share it. I don't care to argue for or against it, nor will it ever become a reality.iTrader: 52 transactions, 100% positive.Comment

No. The whole point of "Well Regulated Militia" is to be properly outfitted and trained ready for disciplined action.

Yep, took the words right outta my mouth.
The same CG gun owners who stated that 10 rd mag restrictions aren't that bad, that the handgun roster is not so bad because there are still decent guns on there, that ARs are overrated rifles, etc. Or the doozy- what "gun right" would you trade for another one
God**** it, if one has a permit to carry, they damn well should be able to have a gun on the streets, no matter the circumstances, "militia" or not
To the OP- I have been involved in guns and the 2A for over three decades, and EVERY SINGLE incremental gun law passed in CA led to more, and more, and more. If you don't see the pattern of the leftist gun grabbers, open your eyes._______________

Until and unless you decide to share it, I'd say it's non-existent. And if it will never become a reality, why even broach the subject.

In two polls prior to FBHO's elections, polls here indicated more yes votes for trading unlimited nationwide CWL licenses in exchange for nationwide California-style background check gun laws. Sad.Last edited by -hanko; 07-27-2020, 10:24 AM.True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

Not only no, but hell no.Rival militias gathered in Louisville this weekend:
The simultaneous demonstrations in Louisville by 'Not F*****g Around Coaltion' and the right-wing 'Three Percenters' are taking place a day after scores were arrested on Friday.
Not the first time this has happened. In this case, one of the NFAC members had a "negligent discharge" and wounded three of his own side. It is easy to see how this situation could quickly escalate into a full-on blood bath if he had hit the opposing side.
So, at the risk of enraging the Second Amendment Absolutists among us, here is an idea for gun control I could get behind: "no armed protests." I haven't drafted the bill yet so feel free to snipe around the edges, but to me it makes no sense to allow organized, heavily armed militias to parade in public. When there are opposing militias, like in this Louisville case, the potential for a full-on battle is obvious. If these protest keep happening, it is only a matter of time.
What do you guys think? Anyone else able to get behind this kind of gun control?
Last week, antifaw azzholes decided the time was right for a demonstration in Boise. They showed up and were met with a group of armed Idahoans. Idaho law allows open carry and constitutional carry. As opposed to states with gun laws out their butts, no one was shot...imagine that.
Only 3 people were arrested...two antifaw jerks who decided to jump a police barrier, and a lady who purposely drove at a funeral pace down the main street where antifaw's and armed Idahoans marched toward each other...not sure if she was a BLM or ALM proponent.True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.
