I’m moving out of the country for a few years. I’m transferring my firearms to a friend for storage.

Hear good things about VCI bags, wondering if anyone had other tips.

Before anyone gives me the go back to your country bit. I’m American as can be. I have wife with underlining medical and two small kids. I know it’ll be easier to sell the guns but I’m attached to them and want to keep them.

Got a trusted friend or relative - preferably out-of-state you can leave them with? It's easier than packing them in cosmoline, and cleaning them up when you return!

I had a shotgun stored in a VCI bag in the safe in the garage and it rusted. I now use silicon gun socks and have had no problems. Also you can coat them with a good quality paste wax, I recommend Renaissance Wax.
