    Help with a Sig P238

My wife and I both have a Sig P238. (380 auto)
One does not lock back with 7 rounder after the last round (shooting or even simply racking the slide).
I have cleaned the gun but still no lock back.
I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Are you using her Sig to verify function?

I know with mine, I had to adjust my grip a little bit for the 7 rounder because my finger was lightly pulling the mag down.

      Cleaned and LUBED???
Sig factory mags? Warranty probably wouldn't cover aftermarket mags.
You should be able to see the hold open device and manually exercise it up and down to make sure it moves easily, and that the mag follower contacts it correctly.
I would take off the grips and blast it with some high power spray cleaner and them lube it well.
Since you have 2, you should be able to see what's different between the 2.
I would play around with it a bit, and then send it in if you can't get it working.
There should be a youtube video on full disassembly that should help you.
      I love mine.

I never rely on any gun locking back. I have some guns that almost never lock back, some that usually lock back, and only a couple that always lock back. I simply train and compete accordingly. It will make you a better shooter.

That's a good point. Switch guns and see if even your gun doesn't lock back when she shoots it.

swap slide locks between the guns and see what happens. It is also possible one has a slightly larger mag well and the extended mags are slightly thinner, which causes some tolerance stacking and allows the mag follower to miss the tang on the slide lock.

Swapping slide locks may give you more info. And also as noted, if this is happening only when firing it could be the shooter technique.

Check the Slide Stop spring. Make sure it is not bent and is positioned properly.
