    School me on AR/AK pistols

Hey all, a few questions - can a semi auto AR lower be PPTed, one that doesn't need a magazine lock or whatever flavor of the month keeps them legal when bought new? If possible would this be a BB lower? I want an ar pistol but I hate the break top style.
Is there any way to get a hold of an AK pistol through ppt that it is a semi with no break top or mag lock?

A semiautomatic handgun with the magazine outside the grip must not have a detachable magazine. A ‘pistol’ AR lower may be purchased via PPT.

When it was cheap I don’t need, now it’s double price I definitely don’t needed.

So every single attainable ar/ak pistol out there, new or ppt, has to have a magazine lock aka break top? Ive seen plenty at ranges where guys don't break the top to release the mag.

Yeah man.. break top. Sucks. Never thought I'd say I miss having bullet buttons.

Maglocks are required for it not to be an assault weapon. A compmag is locked in place but is loaded via the side. There are several pin options that crack the action slightly them enable the mag to be dropped.
Check out the hell fighter kit. From just a few feet away using that kit might look like a standard mag change.
Tap the rear pin, drop the mag. Insert a new mag and rock the upper back into lock.

Plenty of people registered their AR/AK Pistols as BB AW's so they wouldn't need to use a newer style magazine locking device.

Yeah I figured that might be the case.

I was really hoping there was a way to avoid that break top crap.

Not unless you have a time machine, supply prop guns to the movies or repair government firearms with the state dangerous weapons permit, or move out of state.

Yeah, while they look ghetto as all get up, I have seen some folks run an AK pistol with an oversized charging handle just so they can rack the charging handle easier under the "manually operated" get-up. You pretty much are required to have a brace for it to work without looking like your losing a balancing act with it.
