Kudos to you for cleaning up.

Red, blue, yellow, or white shirt contrast against tan worse than black?

Why not wear a safety reflective vest?

I could use a white shirt but I’m one of those weirdos who sweat yellow and gray. I could use blue or pink. I had a reflective vest last time and it seems I blended almost too well with the background. A few stray 22s came my way on occasion.

Honestly I’m only going there because someone from my last group left some of my AR500 behind and I’m crossing my fingers it’s still around the area.

There’s a very sharp berm at the entrance of the bottom of the quarry where even my buddies Tundra can’t clear even with running boards removed. I’m hoping by leveling the hump, all of us who shoot there won’t have to worry so much about bottoming out and ripping up the undercarriage.

The sidearm I’ll have will be a Beretta 8045 LAPD or HK Mark 23. My other guns are appendix carry and I don’t wanna swing a pick axe while AIWB, hahaha. Seriously please don’t shoot me for it.

I thought shooting in the quarry was a no go nowadays? Has that changed?

Blaze/Hunter orange is universally known as the "please don't shoot me color".

Wear black pants and a black shirt if you think it contrasts better, but wear an orange vest. Maybe put up some signs letting people know what you're doing.

I posted this in another thread but this is a fair warning to anyone going to the quarry to shoot. My buddies and I were there last year and we got hit with trespassing charges (had to go to court in calaveras, was a pain to drive there so many times from the bay). The sheriffs were called and gave us and everyone else tickets (there were a few other parties there as well). They were super friendly and kept apologizing to us for having to write us up but they said that the quarry was private property as there are no trespassing signs all over (they were knocked down when we went). They mentioned to us that just up the road before getting to the quarry was fair game but as soon as you see the no trespassing signs right before the quarry, it's a no go. YMMV but just wanted to give anyone a heads up.

And how are you going to level ground with a car?

I’ve been out there at least monthly for a year now and so far I haven’t encountered any sort of enforcement out there. There’s people shooting there often before I even get there, and the activity lasts all day, albeit by afternoon I’m probably one of three groups of shooters.

I’ve seen the signs posted for the two years I’ve been out shooting there. Perhaps the incident in question may have been an outlier (maybe someone snitching?). Unless I am the outlier and get lucky. I see groups of people out there hiking, dirt biking, shooting, and sometimes even BBQing.

Yes, my post is true. I'm not trying to scare anyone, just giving everyone fair warning. Attached is the receipt I received after my case was dismissed.

Good to know. I wonder what caused LE to come out there that day? Maybe fire danger? Honestly never heard of enforcement until now.
