Recommendations for a Sacramento Custom gun smith

Good afternoon everyone. I was looking for a recommendation for a gun smith in Sacramento that is familiar with front strap checkering and possibly applying a new finish to my 1911. I also have a Taurus id like to get coated or polished. I remember reading threads about both in the past but the search function is not working for me. Thanks guys.
