    Please tell me it's a scam-avoided

So the following occurred this afternoon on Armslist. Couldn't believe my luck coming across this ad. Then I thought too good to be true.

But you have to make a half payment when the gun gets to you, you complete your payment

Unfortunately this model is not on the CA handgun roster and cannot be shipped. It would have to be a face to face transaction at an FFL. I would be happy to purchase it, if it is still available when you get back into town.

Probably a lot of scams like that going on with some success, in light of all the newbies getting into guns without a hint of knowledge of the laws or processes

You are probably right, I bet a lot of folks are getting scammed like this right now. It sucks but not all good lessons come for free.

Definitely a scam. I inquired about a CZ 75 listed for $400. Guy responded that he could ship it to my house or FFL. Ignored the response and a few days later got a message saying the post was deleted due to possible scam.

Well I definitely feel better now. I did report it to Armslist. And I still have my money. Although I would have loved getting that Vigil Commander, for that price, lol. Was debating to post in the Marketplace "beware" thread since the listing location was Orange County, CA.
